“The original sin was not in eating of the forbidden fruit, but in planting the tree that bore the fruit.”
-Lemuel K. Washburn

I have to say that I agree with that statement. If he didn't want mankind to be tempted by something, God should not have left anything for them to be tempted by.

Adam and Eve, for the most part, were children. Full grown children, maybe, but on the whole new to the world. And when it comes to children...well, they're naturally curious. They practically want to disobey people. You can't tell a child not to touch the stove and expect them to do as you say. Odds are, they're gonna do it anyway. Hell, most people regardless of age are like that. It's human nature to be curious about things, and telling someone not to do something practically insures that they will. God had to have known that...

So either he was testing mankind (as he is seems wont to do) or he fully intended Adam and Eve to take the fruit.

While we're on the subject of temptation, can I just say that I was a little peeved when I heard that alot of people blamed Eve for bringing sin upon the world? They said she was wicked for tempting Adam. *rolls eyes* I say blame Adam for allowing himself to be tempted. People control their own impulses, and if you really don't want to do something you won't.

I realize that statement is completely opposite of what I said earlier. *sigh* I'm a bit confused on where I stand. Mostly because I see both sides. Maybe because it's not something that can be blamed on just one thing or another. Maybe it's not something you can blame on anything.

Who knows?

God! I don't know how I ever thought I was intelligent. I thought, for some godforsaken reason, that taking summer classes would acclimate me for college life.

...what it has really done was convince me that I am a brainless, naive twit for ever thinking so.

Yesterday I was convinced that summer classes can be classified as the sort of cruel and unusual punishment thing that only sociopaths and government agencies do.

We're in a small, bland, windowless classroom that has no air conditioning for three hours a day while we have 90 degree weather. We're fitting 16 weeks of class into about 15 days. We get essays for homework every day about stuff we actually have to think about. Things like personality tests and how the attribution theory (psychology) can be compared and contrasted to both science and specific literature.

It's the second day of classes!!! *flails arms around, spazzing out*

Ok, ok...really, it's not so bad. I thought I would go crazy on the first day, since everyone was older and waayy more together than I was. Today was alot better though, and I think I might eventually get the hang of things.

However, I've got an essay due tomorrow, so I'll be going right about now.

Now don't get me wrong--I like JC Chasez as much as any other fangirl out there. However, I'm beginning to get a little curious about what the hell his next song could possible be about. Sex is a good guess, but...what KIND of sex song?

For those of you who have no clue who JC is, or what I'm talking about, let me give you a little background information. JC Chasez is one of the singers in NSync and has cowritten some of the songs on their albums. He's also started a solo career somewhat recently (though I'm not sure when his album is coming out). He's a good singer, and in my opinion looks hot too. And god, he can move those hips!

Anyway, back to the point.

As good a singer as he is, and as much as I like listening to the songs he writes, I really have to wonder if he knows what the phrase "too much information" means.

For example, one of the songs he helped write is called "Digital Getdown", or as I like to call it, "The Cyber Sex Song". Cyber sex using digital cameras, no less. Lyrics: Digital, Digital Getdown, just what we need. If we can't get together naturally, then we can get together on the digital screen.

Yeah. Okay. The song's not bad, but jeez, man. (Alright, it's more than 'not bad'. I secretly adore the song--but then, I'm easily amused. And plus, it's catchy.)

Next up: A song that Justin Timberlake helped him write. It's called....*cues drumroll* Up Against The Wall!!!

She took my hand,

And never said a word at hall

We started grinding...

Shorty had me up against the wall.

....yeah, no comment on that one. Just...nothing.

And now that NSync is on its "Hiatus", JC has come out with yet another song. It was used in that movie, Drumline (which I have yet to see). It's called--get this: "Blowing Me Up (With Her Love)" And it has words like "naughty" and "horny" and a point in the song where he's making...*cough* moaning noises.

It's not like it's anything worse (not that sex is bad, mind) than some rap songs, or pretty much anything Prince has done, but still.

Just a bit curious about his next song...

God, it's hot. I wouldn't mind it so much, except my fan just broke. *sniffle* I sat for five seconds, and it went kaput! Five seconds after THAT, and I was already completely soaked.

Anyway.

Okay, current events portion of the show: Not to complain or anything, but this regents thing that's been going on? It annoys me. It was bad enough that these people are graduating, despite actually failing the math test, but now I hear that they're graduating with a regents diploma.

So yeah, annoyed. I understand that the test may have been unfair and overly difficult, but heck--just make them retake the test with easier questions. Maybe they could use a past test or something. Regardless, those kids shouldn't just be allowed to pass just because people say it's hard. Take. Another. Test.

My second point to make is this: The math regents is not just something you take in the 12th grade. You get four different math tests, each that you can take atleast twice a year from freshman year on. And you only have to pass ONE. So okay, say this last test WAS hard.

...so why didn't you pass it any other time?

Even I, a person that is pathetic when it comes to math...even I managed to pass One Test in my four years of high school. It may not have been a high grade, but I passed. And when I was having trouble with math, I Got Help. Tutoring and whatnot.

So if the test was unfair, that still doesn't explain why some of these people are unable to meet their graduation requirements. And ok, since I know math isn't the easiest subject in the world, I can even see the points of view for the kids who needed to pass to complete high school.

However, I feel that regardless of the situation, it is not fair to allow those seniors to graduate without passing the exam. It is especially unfair for every person who DID pass that test and past regents.

That's all I have to say on that.

I officially hate html and will never ever learn it.
